Stromness Shopping Week this year runs from the 18th to 24th July 2010 and is a fun filled week of events for all the family.

Appearing this year we have James Kennedy, an entertainer who does shows for children and adults. He will be doing street entertainment and a magic show for the children and a short caberet show in the Stromness Hotel as well as a hypnotist show in the Ferry Inn.

The visiting Pipe Band is the Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band who will play selections through the week in various locations

The Bank for the Week are Slange Ava. They are a country rock group.

As usual we have all the old favourites such as the Yard of Ale, the Beer Race, Holms Swim, etc.

There is a full programme for the children of sports, round the town race, workshops, with many activities for them to take part in.

The Community Centre will be open for visitors to enjoy the Flower Club and WRI displays
